Bootstrap and its subsidiary Electric Coin Co. (ECC) are pleased to announce the newest Bootstrap board member, Zaki Manian. Manian is co-founder of iqlusion and a frequent contributor to the Cosmos ecosystem, and he has served as a technical advisor to ECC since January 2020.
Manian has deep expertise in cryptography and distributed consensus systems, serves as executive director of Trusted IoT Alliance (now part of Industry IoT Consortium), and is an advisor to Tendermint and several other investment funds and startups in the space.
“Zaki combines product and engineering vision with an elaborate spirit of collaboration, and we’ve had good luck with Z names,” said Alan Fairless, a Bootstrap board member, angel investor, and co-founder of SpiderOak.
Manian joins Fairless and other current Bootstrap board members: Christina Garman, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University and one of the seven scientists who invented Zerocash (Zcash); Andrew McLaughlin, an entrepreneur and tech policy activist who served as Deputy Chief Technology Officer under Barack Obama; and Zooko Wilcox, ECC founder and CEO.
